UI/UX & Product Design Internship

Remote Internship

About the Role

We're looking for a creative UI/UX & Product Design Intern to help us craft beautiful, intuitive experiences. You won't be doing busywork here, you'll be designing actual interfaces and experiences for the entire Tayari ecosystem from web platforms to mobile applications and marketing campaigns that reach students across Africa. This is an unpaid internship, but your hard work won't go unnoticed. High-performing interns are continuously evaluated and matched to paid opportunities (internal roles, client projects, or partner companies) based purely on the quality and impact of your design output.

What You Will Do

Design clear, engaging, and highly usable interfaces for our mobile app and web platforms using Figma.
Create wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes to communicate ideas before development begins.
Design eye-catching marketing materials, social media posts, and app store graphics.
Work closely with our developers to ensure what you design can be built, and looks right when it is.
Maintain and grow the Tayari Design System so our brand stays consistent everywhere.

Who You Are (Requirements)

Currently pursuing a degree in Design, HCI, IT, or a related creative field.
A strong portfolio demonstrating both UI/UX thinking and visual design craft.
Proficiency in Figma (Auto Layout and Components are expected) and Adobe Creative Cloud.
Ability to explain *why* you designed something a certain way, not just what it looks like.
Proactive, takes constructive feedback well, and can manage multiple design tasks at once.

Important Note on Compensation

This is a non-salaried internship, but as a team member you get free access to Tayari's internal training and career development courses.
You will work on real products and be evaluated on your creativity, performance, and design quality.
Top-performing interns are directly matched to paid roles through internal hiring, client project placements, or external partner opportunities.
